Bananas are berries

Yes, the banana fruit is a berry. Berries are identified as being many seeded with a fleshy inner layer. So, technically a banana is a berry. And, believe it or not, bananas don't grow on trees! Originally from Asia, the "banana tree" is really not a tree in the true sense. In fact, banana plants have no wood fiber. The banana plant is the world's largest herb and a member of the lily family. The pictures are of a Banana Spider and a Banana flower.

Also Pine nuts come from Pine cones and Peanuts are not nuts they are vegetables.

Queen Christina of Sweden

Queen Christina ruled Sweden from 1632 to 1654. What did she consider the biggest threat to her kingdom? Fleas. The Queen hated them and wanted each and everyone one she found in her palace killed … individually.

To accomplish this feat (this was long before the invention of chemical insect repellents), she commissioned the construction of a tiny, one-inch-long cannon, that was packed with tiny flea-sized cannonball. Whenever she spotted one, she fired the tiny cannon at it and occasionally made a killshot.

Black Spider Monkey

Why they should be called Bee monkeys and not Spider monkeys

Relative to it's size, the spider monkey has a larger brain than other monkeys but little is known about their capability to bleed radiators. However they will break off heavy branches and drop them from trees to scare off intruders. They are very noisy monkeys who like to have a good hoot, however this makes them easy targets for hunters, just one of the reasons they are facing extinction. As far as I know the Chinese don't use them in any medicines so atleast they've got that going for them.

They hang onto separate branches of the trees with all four limbs and the tail as well. This gives the monkey a spider like appearance, which is why these monkeys are called spider monkeys.

When they wake up they like to go for a walk and get some grub. As they don't have Al's cafe they have to find nuts, seeds, insects and fruit in the rainforests of South America. Sometimes though they have been known to enjoy a nice egg for breakfast if they find an unguarded nest amongst the tree-tops. Their fondness of smelling flowers on a morning means they play a crucial role in spreading pollen and seeds of various plants, just like a bee does.

Male and female spider monkeys look more or less the same, however, the females are slightly larger than the males. In troops females usually outnumber the males, it's usually a ratio of 2 females to one male and the women are the dominant members of the group.

They give birth every 2-3 years, she carries the baby in her womb for nearly 8 months and will then have to carry the baby around for almost 10 months after its birth. They are almost completely helpless during this time, poor things. Deforestation, their low birth-rate and the fact they are easy to hunt means they face extinction.

Found mostly in black, spider monkeys may even be found in colours like brown, red and golden.

October 1st - Basically left-handed smokers are screwed.

Every time you sneeze your heart stops a second.

Is this true?

I don't know for sure.

Facetious and abstemious contain all the vowels in their correct order.

This is true.

The only 15 letter word that can be spelled without repeating its letters is uncopyrightable.

I like wordy truths.

The word "dreamt" is the only common word in the English language that ends in "mt".

Right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed people do.

Basically left-handed smokers are screwed.

The Kestrel and other birds

The Common Kestrel has infra-red vision allowing it to identify voles by their urine trails. The largest hovering bird is the Ringed Kingfisher. Buzzards have really good long distance vision and can identify a rabbit a kilometre away.
